MDF24, the first leg of the Marmara Diplomacy Forum (MDF), was organized as a prestigious event
bringing together young people interested in international relations and diplomacy. The forum,
consisting of 5 committees (1 Japanese, 2 Arabic, and 2 English), provided the opportunity to
address global issues and resolve them through diplomacy by conducting discussions in different
languages.
The first day of the event started with the opening program and concluded with a gala dinner
following the sessions. On the second day, the Consul General of Japan in Istanbul attended the
event and held a special session with our Japanese committee. On the third day, Hakan Fidan, the
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, attended the diplomacy conference, which
offered participants a valuable perspective on international relations and provided golden
advice to the youth.
MDF24, beyond just an academic event, became a platform where young people developed their
critical thinking, negotiation, and leadership skills, interacted with different cultures, and
took their first steps into international diplomacy. The forum, which attracted great interest
in its first year, aims to continue with wider participation in the future.
